Our song "Raised By Wolves" (Juices!, Upper Class Recordings) has won Best Dance/Electronic song of 2008 in the International Songwriting Competition. Over 15,500 songs were considered by a judging panel filled with legends (T-Pain, Tiesto, Robert Smith, Ray Davies, Chaka Khan, Tom Waits, Black Francis and Weird Al Yankovic, to name a few). The International Songwriting Competition has short-listed our song "Raised By Wolves" (Juices!, Upper Class Recordings) for the Best Dance/Electronic song of 2008!

This is pretty serious - Over 15,000 songs were considered by a secret judging panel, stacked with legends (last year’s judges included T-Pain, Robert Smith, Tom Waits, Black Francis, Weird Al Yankovic, Tiesto). The admiration bestowed on us Cansecos is a great honour and accomplishment. Thanks ISC. The winner of the 2008 ISC will be announced by the secret panel at the end of April.

It wasn't a planned thing, but at SXSW this year Princely P and Generous G from The Cansecos went along to label-mate Cadence Weapon's Daytrotter studio session, and when their gear failed in the Backdraft-like heat (thanks for the reference inspiration Buzzed Cuz), the 2 Cansecos jumped on drums and bass, along with DJ Weez-L on cuts for a live rendition of Cadence's ridiculous jam "House Music". Mixing The Russian Futurists, Sally Shapiro, New Shows, Steely Dan

We have just begun a new project - we're mixing the new album by The Russian Futurists! It's an honour not only because it's the The Russian Futurists but because this new one is Matthew Hart's best album to date, and yes, we're very aware of how good previous albums have been, so we're aware of what a strong statement that is. BELIEVE US.

We also did a remix for Sally Shapiro for the new remix record. Read about it.

We're playing in Toronto March 6 as part of Canadian Music Week. We're playing with The Russian Futurists, OPOPO and hopefully, if they decide to get their asses over for this show, Addeboy vs Cliff.

Then we're heading down to SXSW to play some shows.
One we can announce is March 12 @ Habana Patio as part of the "Upper Class & Paper Bag get SAUCED IN AUSTIN" party.

We are happy to say the hometown Toronto Star is the first review we've read of the new album JUICES! that really touches on some truths, that is; mentioning things like Steely Dan and Krautrock.
